Update: Wholesale middle-man ISPOne has entered adminstration and Telstra has released a statement saying that it will not be accepting new payments from existing Kogan Mobile cusotmers. Full story here.
As Telstra and wholesaler ISPOne duke it out in court over unpaid invoices, Kogan Mobile is restricting access to higher value plans while it awaits the court's decision.
Access 90 and Access365 plans are listed as 'unavailable' on the company's website, and the following disclaimer on the Kogan Mobile frontage:
"Kogan Mobile is unable to proceed with ACCESS 90 & ACCESS 365 Extensions at this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause; you can still extend with ACCESS 30."
A decision is expected later today as to whether Telstra will be allowed to suspend the services it provides to ISPOne, which it in turn on-sells to companies like Kogan and Aldi Mobile.
Discontinuing business with ISPOne may not disconnect Kogan and Aldi customers from the network though, as Telstra told ZDNet on Monday that it had a contingency plan ready to protect customers which could be affected by a change in the wholesale service provider.
Kogan is clearly concerned about its position in this relationship though, sending out a lengthy email to customers yesterday warning them that "there are forces at play in the Australian telecommunications market that are beyond our control, very powerful and impossible to ignore."
