
Even if you're not waiting for a new iPhone, your current device is set to get a bit of love from Apple; iOS 11 is now available as a free download for most current iPhone and iPad models. If you've got an Apple Watch, you're able to upgrade it to watchOS 4 after your paired iPhone is running iOS 11.
iOS 11 is the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system, and runs on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
What's new in iOS 11?
Key improvements include a Control Centre and App Store redesign, translation in Siri, Apple Pay in iMessage, and a "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode. There's also a host of iPad specific functionality, such as a larger dock, improved multitasking, and a Finder-like Files apps.

How do I upgrade to iOS 11?
Upgrading to iOS 11 is easy. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, select General, and then tap Software Update. The upgrade to iOS 11 will be a fairly large download, so you'll want to be connected to Wi-Fi beforehand. Size varies from device to device, but expect a download around 2GB or so.
Can I upgrade to iOS 11?
The iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus will all ship with iOS 11, while the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, and iPhone SE are all compatible with iOS 11. The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c will not get the upgrade.
For the tablets, all iPad Pro and iPad Air models can be upgraded. The newly released iPad will get it too, as will the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and iPad mini 4.
Only the sixth generation iPod Touch is compatible with iOS 11.
