September is coming up quickly, so that means new iPhones are right around the corner. Apple fans might have a lot more to look forward to, with supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicting updates to pretty much every product in the range.
In brief, here's what Kuo predicts Apple will launch before the end of the of the year:
- Three new iPhone models, based on the iPhone X. These will include a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch model with an OLED display (as found on the iPhone X) and two rear-facing cameras, and a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model with a single rear-facing camera. Who knows what the hell they'll be called. iPhone 9? iPhone Xs? Just iPhone?
- Two new iPad Pros - 12.9-inch and 11-inch - with a full-screen design, no home button, and facial recognition.
- Two new Apple Watch models with larger screens, measuring in at roughly 40mm and 45mm. Current Apple Watches come in a choice of either 38mm or 42mm. We're expecting the Watch itself to be the same size, and display growth will come from cutting down on bezels. This would allow existing Apple Watch bands to seamlessly fit the new devices.
- A cheaper entry level MacBook to replace to the MacBook Air.
- Processor upgrades for the iMac, MacBook, and MacBook Pro.
- A new Mac Mini, which is kind of exciting, as Apple hasn't done anything with its tiny computer for almost four years.
History suggests that Apple will announced new iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches in September, followed by new Macs in October.
