Ever wanted a speaker so small you can squeeze it in your pocket? Probably not, but with the Beoplay P2, Bang & Olufsen subsidiary B&O Play has launched just that. And it actually sounds pretty damn good.
Measuring in at 140 x 80 x 28mm, the Beoplay P2 is Bang & Olufsen's smallest Bluetooth speaker yet; it's roughly the same size as an iPhone 7, but thicker. I'd say it’s a touch too big for my jeans, but it's the perfect size for one of one of my work satchel's side pockets.
Despite the tiny form the factor, the Beoplay P2 still packs a punch when it comes to sound. We had a brief ears on at a launch event, and were pretty impressed by both the volume and sound quality. Impressively, the speaker didn't have any trouble pushing out punchy basslines (such as the one found on Kendrick Lamar's "DNA", for example), and was even able to handle sub-bass frequencies.

Bang & Olufsen has clearly taken a cue from Steve Jobs' hatred of buttons and axed everything but an on-switch hidden away on the unit's underside. Instead, you're able to tap or shake the P2 to pause, play, skip track, or launch your phone's personal assistant. These gestures are customised via the P2's companion app.
Bang & Olufsen says the P2 will give you about 10 hours of playback. It recharges over USB Type-C, and will require about two hours to go from empty to full.
The Beoplay P2 is available now, retailing, for $249. You can get it in blue, black, or sandstone.
