Vodafone today announces a massive expansion for its Roam Like Home global roaming offer, which now includes 34 European countries on top of the US, UK and New Zealand.
Roam like Home is a part of the telco's new Red Plans, and allows customers to use their phones on networks overseas for an addition $5 per day on top of their monthly plan. Once they have paid the tariff, Red Plan customers can access the same level of inclusions in foreign countries as they would at home.
Vodafone has three Red Plan tiers: $65, $80 and $100 per month. Each plan level includes unlimited calls and messages, plus either 1.5GB, 2.5GB or 5GB of data depending on the plan level.
The big gap in Vodafone's Roam Like Home offer remains all of the popular destinations in Asia, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. For customers travelling to countries outside of the Roam Like Home footprint, Vodafone's Roaming Add-Ons are far less attractive, with 100MB of data costing $30 and calls and message rates varying depending on which country you visit.
The new European countries added to Roam Like Home include:
Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
