Virgin Extends Bonus Data Promo

In case you’ve missed it so far, Virgin is extending its bonus data campaign until October, including Double Data on its 24-month plans.

There are no changes to how the promotion works, the same plans continue to include the same bonuses, but the deals will now continue until October 7, 2015.

Importantly, this gives Virgin a big data lead over the major telcos, specifically Vodafone and Optus. Vodafone had been running a similar Double Data deal until a week ago when it launched its new-look Red Plans.

It is also good news with new iPhones just around the corner. The October deadline might means that the promotion runs for the first few weeks after a new iPhone launches in September — depending, of course, on how Apple plans to time its launch activities .

For reference, here are the plans and the bonus data inclusions:

• $40 SIM plan with 3GB data + 1GB bonus data
• Double data on $40, $50, $60 & $70 24-month plans
• Double data on $80 & $100 24-month plans, + 1GB bonus for online purchases
• Double data on $35 SIM plan
• Bonus 1GB data on $50 SIM plan
• Bonus 4GB data on $60 SIM plan, + 1GB bonus for online purchases
• Double data on $80 SIM plan, + 1GB bonus for online purchases
