The Nintendo Switch 2 is now available through the Telstra Plus rewards store, meaning customers can pick it up with points rather than cash.
Telstra is charging 288,800 Telstra Plus points for the Switch 2, but points can also be used to get a discount if you don't have the full amount. You'll save $2.42 for each 1,000 Telstra Plus points you put toward the Switch 2 purchase.
Given the Switch 2 isn't being discounted yet, it's not a bad way to save on the $699 console if you happen to have a stockpile of Telstra points.
Telstra is also offering Switch 2 Joy-Cons and the Switch 2 Pro controller in its reward store, for 57,400 points and 49,200 points, respectively.
If you don't have any Telstra Plus points, Telstra is also selling the Switch 2 on a plan. Customers can pay off the console over 12 or 24 months. Pricing works out to be $58.25 per month on a 12-month plan, or $29.12 on a 24-month plan.
Either way, that adds up to just under $699, so there's no premium for paying off the Switch 2 in instalments. Notably, you don't need to have a Telstra mobile or NBN plan to buy the Switch 2 on a plan.
At time of writing, Telstra says the Switch 2 is backordered, but items should ship within a week or two.
