MATE has expanded its partnership with Tidal to offer a free music streaming subscription on the vast majority of its SIM-only plans. All MATE mobile customers are now eligible for a free Tidal subscription, provided they're paying at least $25 per month for a plan. This means only customers on the $20 plan don't get a free Tidal subscription. The offer was previously only available on MATE's two top plans.
MATE's SIM-only plans are as follows:
For those not familiar with Tidal, it's a music streaming ostensibly owned by musicians, with major shareholders including Beyoncé, Kanye West, Chris Martin, Jack White, Nicki Minaj, and deadmau5. Jay-Z was previously a majority shareholder, but sold his stake to mobile payments company Square.
Tidal has a focus on high resolution music, but the free subscription included with MATE mobile plans is only the entry-level option billed valued at $11.99 per month. MATE customers can’t upgrade to the high resolution tier for a discounted rate at this stage.
MATE SIM-only customers will receive a voucher for a minimum of 12 months of Tidal. The subscription will stop working within 24 hours of leaving MATE, however.
In addition to offering free Tidal subscription, MATE mobile customers can also save $10 per month when bundled with any MATE NBN plan.
