Google has massively cut the price of its online Google Drive cloud storage service. You’ll still only get 15GB if you’re going the free route, but you can now get 100GB for $1.99 down from $4.99 and 1TB for $9.99 all the way from $49.99 per month.
That’s a huge drop. $49.99 per month is borderline prohibitive for most people, but $9.99 per month is 3 coffees.
This move seriously pulls the rug out from under DropBox’s feet. Currently DB will give you 100GB for $9.99 per month and 500GB for $49.99.
Google Drive
Drive is a cross-platform cloud service that can combine your desktop, laptop and Android devices. Any storage purchased on Drive can be put towards your Gmail, and Google+ photos. It also increases the number of Google Docs you can save, and can be installed as a file on your computer, eliminating the need to access it through a browser.
Storage options don’t stop at 1TB, either. You can grab 10TB for $99 per month, although personal users are extremely unlikely to need that kind of storage.
