Apple today announced that it will hold its next event at 3am AEST April 21, once again in a digital only format. While we won't know what Apple is planning to announce until the event itself, the rumour mill suggests new iPads are on the cards.
Apple is expected to announce a pair of new iPad Pros, with 11-inch and 12.9-inch displays. Both are set to be powered by an A14X processor that should be on par with Apple's new M1 processor found in its Macs, and there's rumours that they could even support 5G. The larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro is expected to feature a Mini LED display, which would allow deeper black levels and better contrast.
A new iPad mini is also on the cards, with a display that could be as large as 9-inch, up from the 7.9 on the previous model. There are rumours it could feature an in-screen fingerprint reader, which would be a first for Apple.
Given the "Spring Loaded", it's quite possible Apple has more to show. Apple has been said to be working on AirTags for quite some time - Tile-like trackers for keeping tabs on your stuff - so we could see those debut, and we're also expecting refreshed AirPods and AirPods Pro before the end of the year. We also wouldn't be surprised if Apple were to introduce a new Apple TV sometime soon.
We'll be bringing you all the news on April 21.
