Finished with our last batch of smartphone game recommendations? No problem, we've got four more titles guaranteed to sap your free time and or help you procrastinate!
Hulabear
Hulabear is the first game from new Australian studio Robot House, and well, it sure is something. In addition to helping Roscoe the bear hula-hoop his way to a high score, you need to collect salmon, dodge fugu, and defuse blowfish. It's a fun time - a weird time too - but mostly a fun time.
Ticket to Earth
Ticket to Earth is another Australian new release, combing a tile matching puzzler with turn-based strategy and a compelling sci-fi narrative. It looks great, and has more strategic depth than you'd expect from a smartphone game. Highly recommended.
Bit City
Bit City is the latest title from Nimblebit, the makers of time sinks such as Tiny Tower and Pocket Trains. The game takes elements of clickers with town builders and combines them into a compelling offering. While both genres are pretty saturated, Bit City stands out thanks to charming graphics, and a free-to-play business model that doesn't get in the way of enjoying the game.
Euclidean Lands
Euclidean Lands is mind-bending puzzle game that takes blends a Hitman Go style board game with a Rubik's cube. You take control of a spear-wielding warrior, and in addition to being able to move him, you're almost able to twist and turn the rows of block that make up each level. To finish a level, you need to need to work out how to get your warrior to an exit point, while also taking out enemies. If you're after something that's both unique and challenging, Euclidean Lands is a must play.
