Are you considering the brand new Galaxy S21? You got it! Choosing a phone plan is a commitment, so it is always worth doing your due diligence before clicking that "buy now" button.
All mobile phone plans in Australia are made up of two elements; your monthly mobile network fee plus your phone repayments. As most telcos have contract free mobile network plans you can switch these whenever you like (or leave if you pay out the remaining balance of your phone), but it is important to note that your repayment plan is not transferrable between telcos.
Mobile phone repayment plans take the outright price of the phone and divide them into more manageable monthly payments. Before you can change providers you need to pay back the full value of your phone which can take anywhere between 24 and 36 months. That's a long term relationship, so you'll want to know everything you can about your chosen provider before signing on the dotted line.
