Service Description
This Belong mobile plan is a SIM only month-to-month post-paid mobile service, for use in Australia. To use this service, you'll need to bring your own compatible mobile device which supports access to the 4G service, both 4G 1800MHz and 4G 700MHz bands. Belong uses part of Telstra’s 5G and 4G mobile network.
There are no early termination charges. You can cancel your service without any further monthly payments by submitting a support request through the Belong app or website a minimum of 24 hours before the start of the next monthly payment cycle.
Speeds
Download speeds for included data are capped at 250Mbps on 4G and 5G. If you go over your included data allowance, your speed will be capped at 1Mbps but Belong won’t charge you extra.
To access 5G, you will need a 5G compatible device and be within a Belong 5G coverage area. Speeds may vary due to factors such as location, distance from base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination.
International Inclusions
This Plan includes unlimited standard calls and texts to 30 selected countries and unlimited standard SMS & MMS to mobiles to 42 selected countries. The destinations that are included may change from time to time, and are as set out in their mobile calls and text inclusions page.
Data Usage
- Data Banking: Roll over any unused data at the end of the current month.
- Data Gifting: Gift your unused data, in 1GB units, to another Belong mobile customer.
Manage Your Account
You can keep track of your data by signing in to your Belong account through the Belong app or on the Belong website. Belong’ll also send you SMS alerts in near real-time when you have less than 2GB and also when you have less than 1GB of data remaining. Once you have no data remaining, Belong’ll send a final SMS to let you know and your service will be slowed to a maximum of 64 kbps.

If you miss a call, the caller will be able to leave a 10 second voice message that will be converted into text and send to you as an SMS. Belong currently don’t offer a voicemail service.

Belong perks
Like a number of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) Belong's offering is all about simplicity. All plans are contract-free and include unlimited calls and SMS to Australian numbers. You just need to choose how much data you want. There are a few extra perks you can take advantage of, including:
- International roaming. You don't need to be with a bigger brand for an international roaming solution. Belong offers 3GB of data, unlimited standard SMS and 150 minutes of calls with a 15-day expiry for $30. International roaming is available in 45 destinations
- International calls and texts. For an extra $5 per month, you can add unlimited international calls and texts to 30 destinations. On the most expensive Belong mobile plan this comes included
- Unlimited data. Belong is one of a few telcos that offers unlimited data mobile plans and no excess data charges. This means if you use all your data for the month, you'll get access to unlimited data capped at speeds of 1Mbps which is enough for very basic browsing
- Data banking. Each of Belong's mobile plans comes with unlimited data banking. At the end of your billing period, any unused full-speed data is rolled over to the next billing cycle. You can even switch to a cheaper or more expensive Belong plan and keep any banked data
- Data gifting. Banked too much data? If you think you'll never use it you can donate it to other Belong customers in 1GB increments, the gifted data is added to their data bank. This is great for offloading unused data to family or friends who need it
- Referral bonus. Sign up another person to Belong using your personal referral code and receive a $20 credit to your account (up to $200)

Like many providers, Belong now has introduced speed caps. On most of Belong's plans, the speed caps out at 150Mbps. On its largest plan, speeds cap at 250Mbps.
But keep in mind - that's still plenty fast enough to do all the stuff you normally do online - browse the internet, watch videos, play games, etc. To put the speed cap in perspective, 100Mbps is the speed offered by NBN 100 plans, which we normally recommend to support a household of four or more heavy internet users.
No matter which Belong plan you choose you can expect speeds somewhere above NBN 100 and under or equal to NBN 250.
How to switch to Belong
Switching to Belong is as easy as ordering a new SIM card. You can order one online or from the app.
Switching to Belong is an easy process:
- Compare Belong plans to find the one that suits you and sign up online or via the app
- When signing up for a new Belong plan, you'll be asked if you'd like to 'port' or transfer your current number to your new account. Put in your current number, and specify your existing provider if you want to keep the one you have or select the option to receive a new one
- After you've ordered and received your SIM card you'll need to activate it. Doing this begins the process of transferring your number
Note: Your service with your old telco will keep working until it's ported over to Belong. This can take between a few minutes to an hour and is best done during business hours - when transfers take place. You'll know your new Belong plan is connected when your previous service stops working.

What happens if I want to cancel my Belong plan?
Because all its plans are contract-free, you can cancel at any time without being penalised. Keep in mind any unused gigs in your data bank will be forfeited.
What happens if I go over my monthly data allowance?
Belong doesn't charge for excess data and instead offers unlimited data. Once you use up the data that comes included with your plan your maximum sped will be capped to 1Mbps - just enough for basic activities.
What network does Belong use?
Belong is owned and operated by Telstra and runs on parts of the 4G and 5G Telstra networks in Australia.
Does Belong have 5G?
Yes, each of Belong's mobile plans comes with access to 5G if you have a 5G-enabled device.
Can I make overseas calls with Belong?
Yes, you can add overseas calls to 30 destinations with Belong for $5 per month. This is included on Belong's largest plan. Otherwise, the add-on can be activated with Belong's app or online when logged in.
Can I use my Belong mobile plan overseas?
Yes, with roaming activated for $30 you get 3GB of data, 100 minutes of calls and unlimited texts to use while overseas in 45 destinations. This is valid to use for 15 days.
