Service Description
This iiNet NBN plan includes a residential grade Fixed Wireless broadband service on the NBN network.
NBN Fixed Wireless services are delivered by radio communications via NBN towers that transmit a signal directly to a small outdoor antenna installed on your home.
Equipment Requirements
You will require an NBN ready modem, with support for all types of NBN services. Your modem will need to be WiFi or VoIP enabled if you want to connect wireless devices or make use of your included Netphone service. NBN HFC services require you to purchase an iiNet modem (which is WiFi and VoIP enabled). You will also need a standard phone handset (approved for use in Australia) to use your included Netphone service. If you don’t already have one, iiNet can sell you a suitable device at additional cost.
By selecting to bring your own NBN-ready modem, you will receive a data-only nbn® service. The nbn® Phone service will not be included; and you will not be able to make or receive calls.
Add a Modem
You can choose to add a high-speed modem with Wi-Fi 7. The modem is $0 when you stay connected for 24 months (Device Period), however you will be required to pay a $10 modem delivery fee. If your plan is cancelled or withdrawn within 24 months of connecting, you will be charged a modem fee of $200. Alternatively, if you return the Modem in Good Working Order within 21 days of your plan being cancelled or withdrawn, iiNet will waive the remaining cost of the Modem.
Phone Service
With every NBN plan iiNet includes a Netphone (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone service at no additional cost, offering great call rates and call inclusions depending on your plan of choice.
This plan includes pay as you go calls. Rates & Inclusions:- Local and National calls: 15c/call untimed
- Mobile calls: 29c/min
- 1300/13 numbers: 30c/call untimed
Optional Extras:
- Basic Call Pack: Includes unlimited local calls (standard national and mobile calls) for just $5 per month extra
- Value Call Pack: Includes unlimited local calls (standard national and mobile calls) and 100 international minutes for $10 per month extra
Service Availability
Not available in all areas. Actual speeds may vary due to many factors including type/source of content being downloaded, hardware and software configuration, the number of users simultaneously using the network and performance of interconnecting infrastructure not operated by iiNet. Addresses with speeds affected by NBN Co wireless network congestion will be notified. Devices connected by WiFi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.

Another important thing to note: while installation is free for most customers (excluding the upfront costs you'll pay on a month-to-month plan), if you're located in a newly developed area with no existing telecommunications infrastructure, you may be charged a $300 New Development Fee by NBN Co.

Do I need to buy a new modem to sign up to iiNet?
If you already have a NBN-ready modem or router that is suitable for your technology type, you may be able to use it with your iiNet plan; however, some NBN services require a new modem.
Contract customers will receive this ready-to-go modem free at installation, but if you're on a month-to-month plan, you'll need to pay an upfront fee.
What happens if I want to cancel my iiNet NBN plan?
If you're on a no-contract iiNet plan, you're free to cancel or switch at any time without penalty. If you are on a 6 month contract – want to cancel before the period ends, you will need to pay a break fee.
