Foxtel is the latest Australian broadband provider to dip its toes into the world of NBN. The pay TV giant is expanding its ADSL offering by new packages that bundle Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) National Broadband Network access with its suite of premium television options.
Foxtel is only offering FTTP connections at the moment, but this is described as an "initial push", "which will accelerate in the coming months", suggesting that the provider will also offer National Broadband Network connections via other technology types, such as Fibre-to-the-Basement and Fibre-to-the-Node.
Pricing for Foxtel's NBN bundles starts at $101 per month on a 24 month contract, including 100GB of data, 10Mbps download speeds, home phone, and the basic Foxtel entertainment pack.
If you're after everything that Foxtel can give you, you're looking at $240 per month. This includes unlimited broadband, 100Mbps download speeds, home phone, and the Foxtel Platinum HD pack. Customers who sign up online will get one month of Platinum HD for free, the standard TV install fee waived, bundled activation fee waived, and iQ3 set top box fee waived. All up, this is a total saving of $459.
Similar savings are available to customers taking up other bundles online.
Foxtel's announcement follows news that Vodafone and Amaysim will both begin reselling NBN products as of next year.
