Pay TV giant Foxtel today announced that it is now able to deliver NBN connections over Fibre-to-the-Node and Fibre-to-the-Basement technology types, effectively doubling the number of premises it can service. Prior to today, Foxtel was only able to deliver National Broadband Network connections over Fibre-to-the-Premise.

Foxtel is currently unable to sell you internet over the NBN if your place is connected via HFC, Satellite, or Fixed Wireless. Foxtel has yet to confirm when it will be able to deliver services over these technology types. In areas where the NBN isn't yet available, Foxtel is able to deliver broadband over ADSL.

Rather than sell standalone internet, Foxtel bundles broadband with its pay TV service. Plans currently start at $101 per month, which includes a 200GB download allowance, home phone, and the basic Foxtel entertainment package.

Depending on the plan you're after, you may need to pay a $99 bundle activation fee, a $125 iQ3 set-top box fee, and a $100 standard TV install fee. Foxtel will however waive these fees if you take up one of its "Unlimited" bundles before July 12.
