The CommBank app will gain a whole host of telco functionality over the coming months, streamlining common tasks for More mobile and internet customers.
More mobile customers can already check their data usage through the CommBank app, but More co-founder Rich Branson told WhistleOut there's a lot more on the cards. Data gifting is coming next, and More is also working on the ability to buy international roaming packs and run NBN connection health checks.
The most ambitious feature will be the ability to sign up for a More plan directly through the CommBank app.
"Hopefully by June 30 next year, we'll have full sign-up functionality in the app," said Branson. "CommBank will do data handoff so customers don't have to enter all their information and actually sign up for products and services right from the app.
"The banks already know a lot about people, so you know, it's just a dropdown box. How many mobile plans do you want?"
Branson's comments follow the news that More and CommBank have extended their strategic partnership for another ten years, which includes CommBank purchasing a larger stake in the business (which also includes sibling telco Tangerine).
As part of the extended agreement, More has refreshed its offers for CommBank customers. New customers switching to More get a minimum lifetime discount of $10 per month on NBN plans and $4 per month on mobile plans.
Customers with Yellow Plus status can $15 per month on the first three years for NBN plans, which reduces to a $10 per month saving thereafter. On mobile, this is an $8 discount for the first three years, then $4 per month thereafter.
And customers with Yello Gold status save $30 per month for the first three years on NBN plans, and get a $15 per month lifetime saving after. This is $12 per month for the first three years on a mobile plan, which becomes a $6 per month ongoing discount.
No matter what tier, mobile discounts can be applied to as many as five plans per account.
There are larger discounts available for customers with Yello Diamond, but neither More nor CommBank have published these.

Previously, More's discounts for CommBank customers lasted a year, but Branson says that wasn't long enough.
"The biggest thing is deals now go for 36 months," said Branson. "We did have some feedback that customers weren't willing to change or felt hesitant to just change for just 12 months."
"We really think that for 36 months, it's worth making the change."
Customers of both More and CommBank who signed up before June 4 should find a code in the CommBank app that will give them their discounted rate for another two years.
