Once upon a time you were expected to blindly sign up to an internet plan for two years. The whole time, figuratively stuck in that high tower waiting for the contract to be broken by true love’s first reasonable exit fee.
NBN connections have never been romantic but providers these days do try and keep the spark alive, or at least woo you somewhat before tying the knot. And right now when it comes to your first date, Exetel is buying.
For a limited time new customers can get their first month with Exetel entirely free.

Sign up to any of Exetel’s fixed line NBN plans and receive the first month free of charge. Every one of Exetel’s residential NBN plans are contract-free, so if you sign up with the telco and aren’t satisfied with the connection you can leave without penalty. This includes within your free month.
There are no locked-in time periods that you’ll need to stay with the provider to get the gratis month, you’ll simply need to sign up online and if you’re not happy you can cancel or switch providers without charge.
Once the promotion is over Exetel offers reasonable monthly fees on its NBN plans. They’re not the cheapest, but they are by no means the most expensive either. Generally NBN 50 plans cost around $70 to $80 per month without any discounts, Exetel sits right in the middle at $75 per month. Here is how the provider compares to other NBN 50 plans.

Exetel offers what are ostensibly congestion-free NBN plans, which means that every plan offers the maximum speed for the speed tier. Regardless of the time of day, your connection should be achieving 12, 25, 50, or 100Mbps, respective to your chosen plan.
The provider also offers NBN 250, and NBN 500 plans for FTTP and select HFC connections. The typical evening speeds on these are 225Mbps and 245Mbps. Here are how these compare to other plans faster than 100Mbps.
