Customers on Aussie Broadband's budget brand Buddy Telco will be migrated to Tangerine later this month. Migrations will happen between March 23 and March 25, with customers being told to expect a "short disconnection" period while they are moved over. This should be less than 30 minutes.
Buddy Telco customers being moved to Tangerine will continue to pay the same monthly fee for their NBN plan, have the same speeds, and the same billing date. Existing modems and routers will continue to work. Tangerine says customers won't need to update payment details following the migration.
Aussie Broadband announced it was selling Buddy to Tangerine in August last year. As part of the broader deal, Tangerine and its sister brand More will be migrated to the Aussie Broadband wholesale network. As such, Buddy customers being moved to Tangerine will continue to "be on Aussie Broadband", but support will be delivered by Tangerine's team instead.
In the lead-up to migration, Tangerine will send Buddy customers two reminder text messages: one seven days before, and one on the day of the transfer. In addition, Buddy customers will no longer be able to change their account details from March 16.
Customers with a static IP will receive a new one. Tangerine says it will let these customers know ahead of time so they can prepare.
