iiNet, TPG, Internode, and Vodafone have made every 5G home broadband plan half-priced for the first six months, provided you sign up before December 2.
Each of these providers offers tiered 5G plans in line with NBN speed tiers. You can opt for a plan capped at 50Mbps or one capped at 100Mbps, for a significantly lower price than the same speed on the NBN. This price difference becomes even more significant when we factor in the 50% discounts.
Here are the 5G home internet plans capped at 50Mbps:
And here are the plans capped at 100Mbps:
And here are equivalent NBN plans for comparison. Toggle the drop-down menu to compare speed tiers.
Every participating plan comes with a modem included, is contract-free and comes with the first month free of charge. If you’re unhappy with the service, or it just isn’t for you then you can return the modem and cancel your plan with no additional charges. You’ll have to pay a fee if you don’t send the modem back, however. Regardless, it is a low-stakes way to try out an NBN alternative.
Once the six-month promotional period ends the plan pricing will revert back to normal.
Each of these providers is powered by the Vodafone 5G network, so you’ll need to live somewhere where this network is available. 5G home internet is only available at select addresses, and may not be available with every provider. My address for example is available from Vodafone, but not from TPG or iiNet. Luckily the pricing is all pretty similar, and equally affordable from each provider.
If you're already a Vodafone mobile customer, you can get an additional $5 per month off the non-discounted price of Vodafone's 5G home wireless plans. That new price is then halved to get your discounted offer.
