Moose Mobile is a budget MVNO on the Optus network, priding itself on low costs and great customer service.
The online-only provider sells affordable SIM-only phone plans, and cheap mobile broadband plans, simply and without much ado.
Who owns Moose Mobile?
Moose Mobile are a Queensland based mobile re-seller, also known as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). The provider is privately owned by Telco Pay PTY LTD, who also operate Hive Mobile.
Founded in 2016, the new provider signed on as an Optus mobile virtual network provider to offer affordable mobile plans.
In 2017, Moose had no plans to extend their offering to business customers, and hasn't alluded to any changes of plans since. The provider continues to focus on customer service and support.
What network does Moose Mobile use?
Moose Mobile is a small provider, operating on the Optus MVNO network. Optus' network covers 98.5% of the Australian population on it's 3G and 4G Plus networks. These have continued to receive significant upgrades over the past few years.

Moose Mobile Plans
Moose sells SIM-only plans powered by the Optus 4G Plus network. Each SIM comes with unlimited calls and texts, excluding the $8.80 SIM which has 200 minutes of local calls. The main difference is the data allowance which ranges from 500MB to 80GB. Locking in to a 12-month plan will lower the costs, and gives more bang for your buck on the data side of things. 12 month contracts also have added international call credit on the three highest options. But the month-to-month options are still great deals for those who need more flexibility.

Moose Mobile Broadband Plans

When you sign-up to Moose, you'll need to make your first payment via a credit card which will also be used for ongoing payments. You also have the option to pay using BPAY or Australia Post, but will need to contact Moose to cancel the direct debit first.
12-month contract customers are not able to change their plan until the contract period has ended. Customers on a month-to-month basis get two free plan changes per year, but any additional changes will cost $20.
Plan changes will only take effect in the new billing cycle, so any additional data won't be available until your next debit.
You'll need to contact Moose Mobile to cancel your service. If you're on a month-to-month plan then you're free to depart as you wish, but if you're locked into a 12 month deal, then you'll need to pay out the remainder to leave.
