Amazon Prime Video on Google Chromecast

If you're a Google Chromecast owner sick of not being able to get all the latest Amazon Prime Video content on your TV, we have good news. Amazon Prime Video will now work with Chromecast.

The changes should already be in effect, which means that if you have the Prime Video app on your phone, are connected to WiFi and are within range of your Chromecast, you should see the Chromecast icon appear in the corner. That means you're all ready to get Good Omens, 30 Rock, The Grand Tour and everything else on Prime onto your big screen.

A subscription to Amazon Prime Video costs $6.99 per month for streaming on up to three devices simultaneously. Membership starts with a 30-day free trial.

The announcement cuts both ways for Google and Amazon lovers, as those who own a Fire TV Stick Basic Edition should now be able to download Google's YouTube app. If you're a Fire TV Stick owner, you can find YouTube in your "Your Apps and Channels" row. When you open the app for the first time, you'll be automatically prompted to download it.

And if you're wondering what other apps do or don't work with your streaming device, here's our compatibility table:
