It doesn't take long to kick off the footy season in Australia and it all begins in February with a special Aussie Rules match that hasn't been played in 27 years. Check out what 2026 AAMI AFL Origin match is and how to get in on the action.
Where can I stream the 2026 AAMI AFL Origin?
The first is available for free via Channel Seven, specifically through 7plus, if you're looking to stream it for free. All you need is a free 7plus account to get streaming.
In addition to 7Plus, you can also stream 2026 AAMI AFL Origin match with a Kayo Sports subscription. Kayo Standard plans are $29.99 per month while Kayo Premium plans are $45.99 per month. The difference? The Premium tier allows subscribers to watch on two screens simultaneously and access 4K quality streaming while the Standard tier offers HD streaming on a single device.
Yes. Kayo offers new customers a seven-day free trial upon sign-up. After the trial ends, you will be charged the full price of either a Standard or Premium subscription.

What is AFL Origin?
AFL Origin, not to be confused with the three-game NRL Origin event that happens mid-year, is an Aussie Rules game that's played between two states. This year it's Western Australia vs. Victoria and takes place on February 14 at Optus Stadium in Perth, WA.
It works very similarly to NRL's State of Origin, where the best of the best players are selected from a number of teams to make up the warring state teams for the match.
The last time an AFL Origin game officially took place was in May 1999 at Victoria's MCG between Victoria and South Australia (Victoria being... well, victorious), but there have been other representative games held since, like the 2020 Bush Fire Relief AFL match.
Where can I stream other AFL events?
Other AFL games are also broadcast on Kayo, and appear live and free on 7plus. Another option is to stream on Foxtel. Above we've outlined Foxtel's packages and pricing.
What is Kayo Sports?
Kayo is the holy grail of sports content. If you can think of it, it's likely on there. It catalogues all the usual sports like Cricket, Gold and Basketball right through to the obscure ones like Lawn Mower Racing, eSports and Darts.
How does Kayo Sports compare?
Kayo is widely regarded as the ultimate sports streaming service, thanks to its ownership through Foxtel giving it plenty of licensing rights and partnership with ESPN.
Like other sports streaming services, Kayo has a unique roster of handy features, including Splitview for watching multiple sports simultaneously (like if your NRL game goes into Golden Point but another is about to begin), Key Moments which allows you to skip to the important parts of a match, No Spoilers which is designed to hide scores as you navigate the interface, interactive stats and convenient a pop-out player.
Kayo works out to be around $55 per month cheaper than Foxtel, at least, and that's on its Premium tier. While it also competes with other services like Stan Sport, Paramount Plus, DAZN and beIN, it has way more sport for your money.
Compare Kayo with other popular sports streaming services.
Editor's pick: Great NBN 100 plans for streaming
Depending on whether you're streaming Kayo Standard or Premium will ultimately determine the base download speed requirements you'll need. At the time of writing, Kayo's minimum broadband requirement uses as little as 2.5Mbps. Its Standard tier's 1080p HD video quality requires 7.5Mbps, while its Premium tier's 4K video quality requires up to 25Mbps per stream. Given you can stream simultaneously on up to two devices with Kayo Premium, you'd need at least 50Mbps of download speed.
While you could get away with an NBN 50 plan, that leaves little to nothing left for anyone else in your household. So that's why we recommend going with an NBN 100 plan to comfortably cover up to 4K streaming, while allowing other devices in your home a share of the download speed. Here's a list of popular NBN 100 plans from our database.
