Who doesn't love a whodunnit? In The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2, Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner reprises her role as Hannah Hall, alongside Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) as Hannah's "missing" husband. Last season, we were tasked with the mission of uncovering what happened to Mr Michaels, who mysteriously disappears leaving behind his daughter with her stepmum. Based on Laura Dave's novel, The Last Thing He Told Me explores the bond of families made of anything other than blood and how tight these ties can be. Starring in the series are Garner's Suddenly 30 best friend Judy Greer (Jurassic World), David Morse (House), Josh Hamilton (The Walking Dead), Aisha Tyler (Archer) and Geoff Stults (Wedding Crashers), just to name a few.
The Last Thing He Told Me Seasons 1 & 2 are streaming on Apple TV.
Deadloch - Amazon Prime Video
TV series | 2 Seasons
Deadloch might not exactly fit the bill for crime 'drama' but despite its dark humour, it still has all the hallmarks of a great Aussie whodunnit. Season 2 transports the intrigue from the titular beachside town in Tassie to the sweaty, sun-scorched Top End. Dulcie and Eddie arrive in Darwin to investigate the untimely death of Eddie's old partner, Bushy. But things quickly take a sharp turn when the duo discover a severed human arm inside a crocodile. Suddenly, everyone in the small sun-baked town is put under the magnifying glass, including Eddie's father (Steve Bisley) and a local croc wrangler played by Luke Hemsworth. - Brodie Fogg
Deadloch Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Though happily married to Carol (Linda Cardellini), Floyd is bored with his standard suburban life. That's when Clark introduces him to the discreet dating app for married people, DTF. Clark, Floyd and Carol all have their own secrets and only two of them will make it to the end of the first episode alive. Who done it, and why, is the mystery to be solved over the season. - Brodie Fogg
DTF: St Louis Season 1 is streaming on HBO Max.
Mr Inbetween - Binge
TV series | 3 Seasons
Inbetween, that's his name, that name again is Inbetween. It's Mr Inbetween. Look, this isn't a new crime drama by any stretch. The third and final season aired back in 2021. But not enough people have seen it, so chances are it's new to you.
Mr Inbetween isn't just a good crime series, it's one of the best prestige dramas to come out of Australia, period. Based on the lead actor Scott Ryan's short film The Magician, Mr Inbetween is Sydney's answer to The Sopranos. Raymond Shoesmith (Scott Ryan) is a hitman with a heart. He's a family man with an unshakeable moral code, but what makes Mr Inbetween so good is that his moral code might not always align with yours. He's got a short fuse and some funny philosophies on justice, but he's also a good father and a great friend. Where Tony Soprano is a likeable mobster slowly corrupted by power, Ray Shoesmith is a blue-collar psychopath with a conscience who never stops being the underdog you can cheer for. - Brodie Fogg
Mr Inbetween Seasons 1 to 3 are streaming on Binge.
Your Friends & Neighbours - Apple TV
TV series | 2 Seasons
Apple TV has been on a roll with crime dramas recently, and it's got more in store for 2026, including a new adaptation of Cape Fear. One of its more recent hits is Your Friends & Neighbours, not to be confused with the unrelated 1998 drama by Neil LaBute (sorry Bute-heads). Jon Hamm (Mad Men) plays Andrew "Coop" Cooper, a wealthy hedge fund manager who goes off the deep end when he loses his job and is divorced by his wife. To maintain his family's luxurious suburban lifestyle, Coop resorts to common larceny, stealing from his friends and neighbours. He's like the opposite of Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to feed the rich. - Brodie Fogg
Your Friends & Neighbours Season 2 is streaming now on Apple TV.
MobLand - Paramount Plus
TV series | 1 Season
MobLand stuns with its impressive cast, Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders), Pierce Brosnan (Black Bag) and Helen Mirren (1923) and equally captivating storyline.
When two rival families are at odds with one another for power, you know the tension is going to result in something explosive. This slightly modern version of the drama Peaky Blinders delivers some slightly gory moment, plenty of plotting, loads of action and old world charm. As charming as gangsters can be.
