In early 2025, DAZN bought Foxtel Group in a $3.4 billion deal. Effectively, DAZN is now the owner of Kayo Sports, Foxtel (including Foxtel Now), and Binge. At the back end of 2025, DAZN has kept everything separate, so it's streaming as usual if you have a DAZN subscription and/or any of the others from the Foxtel Group.
While that will likely change in some capacity down the track, DAZN in Australia is a sports subscription that's worth considering, particularly if you're into boxing, NFL, or soccer. Scroll on for everything you need to know about DAZN in Australia.
What is DAZN Australia?
DAZN (pronounced "da zone"; no, really) is an international sports streaming service that's available in 200+ countries, including Australia. While there is some free DAZN content, you'll get more sports streaming choices if you pay for a subscription, including boxing and MMA, which the service is most renowned for. Additionally, DAZN has several optional add-ons that bolster the experience, including NFL.
How much does DAZN cost in Australia?
There are two main DAZN subscription options: monthly or annual. Pay either $29.99 a month for DAZN or $178.88 upfront, which works out to roughly $14.91 a month. Note that "monthly" is actually "30 days", so you'll need a thirteenth payment every year to cover the full 365 days if you opt for the monthly plan.
DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) boxing bouts are typically charged at $49.99 per event. The biggest promoted add-on is the National Football League (NFL) Game Pass, which is either $32.99 a month for Season Pro or $36.99 a month for Season Pro Ultimate. Alternatively, buy the season upfront annually for $239.99 or $269.99, respectively.
If American football is your thing, you may also want the European League of Football (EFL), which costs $44.99 a month or $194.99 per year. You can also buy a weekly EFL pass for $24.99. DAZN also lets you add on a Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) Courtside subscription for $15.99 a month and/or Rally TV for $19.99 per month.
Comparatively, DAZN's monthly plan sits in the middle of the pack: ever-so-slightly cheaper than Kayo Standard and Stan Sport Basic (but not when adjusted for 13 payments). But you can get cheaper sports streaming from Fetch TV, Paramount Plus, Apple TV (Plus), beIN Sports, and Disney Plus. Here's how DAZN compares to other sports streaming services in Australia.
- Boxing (pre-fight, press conferences, weigh-ins, open workouts)
- NCAA
- NFL highlights
- Super League Basketball
- Women's football (selected leagues)
If you use a VPN that works well with international streaming, you may be able to access other free content:
- LIV Golf (United Kingdom and Canada)
- NFL free game of the week (anywhere outside of Australia, Brazil, DACH, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States of America)
- Saudi Pro League (United Kingdom and Canada)
- UEFA competitions (Canada and New Zealand)
What can I watch on DAZN in Australia?
DAZN has a handful of promoted sports, but that list gets smaller when you consider that NFL Game Pass isn't included with a DAZN subscription. Other promoted sports include DAZN boxing, NHL (via NHL.TV), and soccer: specifically, Enterprise National League and Lega Serie A. DAZN's football offering goes deeper than those two leagues, too:
- LALIGA EA Sports
- Bundesliga
- FIFA Club World Cup
- FIFA Plus
- Enterprise National League North & South
- Saudi Pro League
- Jupiler Pro League
- Liga F Moeve
- Serie A Femminile
- Sports Direct Women's Premiership
While you'll find NBA and NBL elsewhere, DAZN has other basketball leagues:
- Liga Endesa
- NCAA Division
- NCAA Division | Women
- FIBA Women's AmeriCup
- FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments
- FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments
- AfroBasket
- FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers
There are other DAZN sports categories that aren't as populated, including:
- Athletics
- Baseball
- BKFC
- Chess
- Equestrian
- Extreme sports
- Horse racing
- Kickboxing
- MMA
- Motorsport
- Multisport
- Padel
- Powerboat racing
- Snooker
- Tennis
- Triathlon
At the time of writing, while they had respective categories, there was no content for AFL, cricket, golf, and rugby league on DAZN Australia. You may be able to find content in those categories if you connect to an international server with a virtual private network (VPN).
Best internet plans for DAZN
Because DAZN doesn't offer 4K streaming, it has quite modest download speed requirements to stream live sports or replays. At most, DAZN uses 16Mbps for Full HD streams, otherwise it's 9Mbps for HD or 3Mbps for SD streams. Because a DAZN subscription allows for two simultaneous streams, you'll need at least 32Mbps of available download speed to stream without hitches.
Technically, you could get away with an NBN 50 plan, which has up to 50Mbps download speeds. But that'd only leave 18Mbps for the rest of your home, which is why we recommend going with an NBN 100 plan for the extra breathing space. Here's a list of popular NBN 100 plans from our database.
DAZN FAQs
What features does DAZN have?
DAZN is primarily separated into live sports and on-demand replays. Depending on the popularity of the sport, replays are either unedited multi-hour monstrosities or they could be curated selections with the option to toggle off score spoilers. For selected boxing replays, you can shift between bouts and rounds. Outside of a DAZN's optional add-ons and a schedule for upcoming live content, there isn't a whole lot else in terms of prominent streaming features.
Does DAZN have ads?
Yes, DAZN has ads for live sports, and these ads may also be part of replays. This is less a DAZN problem and more in line with what's been normalised with monetisation strategies for live sports.
How to cancel a DAZN subscription
If you have a DAZN Monthly Flex subscription, you have to give 30 days' notice before cancellation, so time your exit accordingly. For an annual subscription, you simply opt out of future renewal. Follow these steps to cancel your DAZN subscription:
- Open the DAZN app or website, then select your name
- Select 'DAZN subscription'
- Tap or click the drop-down arrow next to 'See Plan Details'
- For a monthly subscription, follow the instructions to cancel
- For an annual subscription, choose 'Manage Subscription', then Manage renewal' to stop your next renewal
Is DAZN worth it in Australia?
DAZN is only worth buying in Australia if you're interested in the main sports it has to offer, like boxing, ice hockey, and international soccer. If you're into Australian-specific sports, get a Kayo Sports subscription instead.
Is DAZN free with Amazon Prime?
No, DAZN isn’t free with Amazon Prime, and it's not available as a channel add-on in Australia. If you want sports with your Amazon Prime subscription, add the beIN Sports, NBA League Pass, or an NFL Game Pass. Prime Video includes live cricket and NBA.
Did DAZN buy Kayo Sports?
Yes, DAZN bought Foxtel Group in 2025, which means it's now the owner of Kayo Sports (alongside Foxtel, Foxtel Now, and Binge).
