Optus broadband bundles today are much easier to follow, with new Unlimited Data options on several key plans options.

There are now four Broadband Bundles to consider and three come with Unlimited data across ADSL2+, Cable and NBN Tier 1 variations. Its low-cost option, the Basic Bundle plan delivers a hefty 200GB per month, plus a home phone with unlimited national calls to other land lines.

The $95 Big Bundle is a combination of Unlimited Data and a home phone with all national calls, including mobiles. Or, customers can switch out the home phone for a Fetch TV set-top box for the same $95 per month in a Home Entertainment Bundle Plan.

If you want everything; Unlimited Data, a home phone with all national calls included and Fetch TV, the Optus Ultimate Home Bundle has you covered for $115 per month. All Bundle plans require a 24-month commitment.

The new bundles compare well next to some of Australia’s other major internet service providers, like Telstra and iiNet — neither of which offer any unlimited data products. For the sake of comparison, we’ll include plans with a Foxtel subscription, even though Foxtel and Fetch TV are quite different in many aspects.

Fancy Fetch TV?

The $95 Home Entertainment Bundle is pick of the litter of us, though whether you’d use a home phone line will decide whether you agree with us or not. FetchTV is an internet TV service that gives you access to a variety of new channels to watch, like ESPN, MTV, Syfy, BBC channels and National Geographic,

A unique Fetch TV feature called Movie Box includes a cycle of 30 free movies a month and he set-top box ships with 1TB hard drive which can record over 500-hours of TV shows and downloaded movies.

Fetch is also one of the easiest ways to watch Netflix, with a built-in app pre-installed on the box. Many of the 1-million Aussies currently signed up to Netflix will either be watching it on their laptops or running ugly HDMI cables across their living rooms. Fetch TV, like an Xbox or PlayStation, lets you watch Netflix with no extra setup required.

In many ways, Fetch TV is a budget-friendly Foxtel competitor, but as we’ve examined in an earlier article, there are as many differences in the services as similarities. Fetch TV can tune into Free-To-Air TV channels, but all other services required an active internet connection — another reason why it is great news about the new Optus Unlimited Data plans.
