Optus has refreshed its SIM-only mobile broadband plans, and damn.
If you're happy to commit to a 12-month contract, you'll get 200GB for $60 per month. You can use this SIM in a tablet, 4G modem, or even in a smartphone (if want to use it as a personal hotspot or you don't care about making or receiving phone calls or texts).
If you're not too keen on signing a 12-month contract, you can get the same plans contract-free for $10 extra a month.
In both cases, the 200GB plan is a limited time offer made up of a 100GB base allowance and 100GB of bonus data. You'll need to sign up before February 3 next year to get the whole 200GB.
While Optus' other mobile broadband plans are mostly in line in with industry standards, the 200GB offer towers above the rest of the data-only SIM market - no matter whether you sign a contract or not. If you exclude the 100GB bonus, Vodafone comes close with 90GB for $60 per month, but otherwise, not much really compares.
