iiNet is offering new customers six months of free internet, provided they're able to get one of its Fibre to the Basement (FTTB) plans.
iiNet's FTTB plans are supplied over TPG's Vision Network (TPG owns iiNet), but unlike the NBN, the Vision Network isn't available everywhere. It's only available to around 410,000 homes, and many of these are apartments in capital cities.
If you are eligible, you can get six months free of either iiNet FTTB plan. There's a 100Mbps plan that normally costs $74.99 per month, or a 500Mbps plan that normally costs $79.99 per month.
You'll still need to pay a $10 delivery fee for a modem, and a technician may need to visit to install FTTB equipment.
Here are the plans:
You can confirm the availability of plans at your premises by using the address checker on iiNet's website.
This offer is available until the end of July. iiNet's FTTB plans are contract-free, so you can always leave after your six free months. You will need to return your modem in good working order to avoid paying a hardware fee.
TPG is in the process of selling the Vision Network to Vocus Group (which owns consumer brands Dodo and iPrimus). WhistleOut has confirmed that the sale of the Vision Network does not include the customer base, so it won't impact iiNet customers on FTTB plans.
These are the most popular NBN 50 plans with WhistleOut users this week:
