Exetel has made an announcement that will have many Australian Internet users excited - unlimited NBN plans! Of course there is the restriction that the unmetered data allowance is only available in off peak times between 1am - 9am each day, but none the less it's a move in the right direction.
The original set of NBN plans offered by Exetel were considered amongst the best value offerings available. The new unlimited off peak plans start from $49.50 per month for 50GB peak data and unlimited off peak data at 12Mbps speed, which is substantially higher than the previous starting point of $35.00 per month for 50GB data. However the new price point is in line with other NBN providers, many of whom offer 50GB (12Mbps) for around $50 per month. The unlimited off peak data allowance will also be available on all NBN speed tiers from 12Mbps right up to 100Mbps. The very top tier 100/40Mbps plan has now increased in price from $70 per month to $139 per month, along with increasing the data allowance from 300GB to 500GB + unlimited off peak data.
Another favourable aspect is that the Exetel unlimited off peak data plans are available on a 12 month contract, as opposed to the standard 24 month contracts offered by the majority of providers. The standard set up fee has also been reduced from $100 to $50.
Exetel will not be including uploads towards the peak data limit and all plans include 1 static IP address, 30 free email addresses, and 200MB of personal webspace.
If the National Broadband Network is now available in your area, or construction has commenced, then now is the perfect time to compare NBN plans. You can check out the new Exetel unlimited off peak plans, or compare all NBN plans using our free comparison technology.
