amaysim has finally unveiled what its relaunched NBN internet plans will look like when it starts selling them in the coming months.
The telco will offer plans across four speed tiers, NBN 25, NBN 50, NBN 100 and NBN 250.
Introductory offer prices start at $60 per month for the first six months.
| Plan name (Speed Tier) | Typical evening speeds | Introductory offer price | Ongoing price (after six months) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick As (NBN 25) | 25/8 Mbps | $60 per month, first six months | $70 per month |
| Speedy As (NBN 50) | 50/18 Mbps | $75 per month, first six months | $85 per month |
| Fast As (NBN 100) | 100/18 Mbps | $80 per month, first six months | $90 per month |
| Superfast As (NBN 250) | 240/22 Mbps | $90 per month, first six months | $100 per month |
Customers will be able to bring their own modem, and receive a full-refund subject to a 30-day satisfaction guarantee policy if they're unhappy with the service.
Existing amaysim customers will recieve some unique benefits. First, the telco will invite its customers to provide feedback through surveys and interviews in exchange for three months of free plan fees. The offer will be available through invitation only (until August 8) or for the first 500 customers, whichever comes first.
More importantly, when the NBN plans
launch, existing amaysim mobile plan customers will be eligible to earn a bundle discount. They will
continue to receive the introductory offer price after six months so long as they keep their eligible amaysim
plan.
amaysims Vice President, Vir Inder Nath said "amaysim’s expansion into the NBN market is a significant milestone as we strive to deliver greater value and exceptional service to our customers. Our new NBN home internet plans reflect our commitment to providing affordable, high-quality internet that meets the needs of Australian households."
The impending launch comes at a time of relative shakeup in the budget NBN space. Soon after NBN wholesale price increases, Aussie Broadband launched a new budget brand Buddy.
Buddy's focus is on the same core offering as Aussie Broadband, with chat-based support rather than phone support. amaysim's plans will launch at similar prices to Buddy with amaysim cheaper by $5 per month for NBN 25 and more expensive by $5 per month on NBN 100 (for introductory pricing).
For a better idea of how both telco's plans will compare here are the cheapest NBN plans in WhistleOut's database.
Boost Mobile, also has plans to start offering NBN plans later this year. It too, will offer bundle discounts to existing customers. Boost's founder Peter Adderton told WhislteOut the focus will be to offer flexibility - with an option to change speed tier based on their usage.
