Sonos has teamed up with Swedish flatpack powerhouse Ikea for new affordable wireless multiroom speakers and they're available in Australia now. In addition to a cheaper price point than mainline Sonos speakers, the Sonos x Ikea collab speakers have rather unique designs: both ostensibly double as furniture.

Our personal favourite is the Symfonisk Table Lamp, which is either a lamp that doubles as a speaker, or a speaker that doubles as a lamp. Possibly both. Speaker performance is similar to the Sonos One, but it doesn't have smart assistant functionality. You will need to bring your own bulb, however. Smart or otherwise.

The Symfonisk Table Lamp retails for $269.

Symfonisk Bookshelf

The Symfonisk Bookshelf Speaker is surprisingly versatile in design: it's small enough to place on a bookshelf, but it can also be wall-mounted for use as a small shelf or bedside table. As an ultra-entry level device, it's a few steps back from the Sonos One in terms of sound quality. However, it will only cost you $149. That means you can get get two Symfonisk Bookshelf Speakers for the price of a Sonos One, which seems like a pretty good deal.

Both Symfonisk speakers are compatible with the entire Sonos ecosystem, can be controlled with the Sonos app, and will work in multiroom groups with all existing products such as the Sonos One and Sonos Beam.

You'll be able to grab the pair from Ikea right now, and you'll be able to order online from October 1.
