Telstra’s Belong broadband brand is branching out, now offering affordable home phone bundles.
The ISP launched back in October last year with just two ADSL2+ broadband offers, priced at the time at $50 and $65 for 70GB and 250GB per month respectively.
It has now revised it service menu to include home phone bundles to the broadband-only plans for an extra $20 per month. The data limits remain the same, but the ‘Large’ plan is now cheaper at $60 per-month. All plans are still available on month-to-month contract terms.
Cost of entry
When Belong launched we were originally critical of the set-up costs associated with the plans, noting that an $80 connection fee and compulsory $99 modem seemed steep in the low-cost broadband space.
Generously, Belong is now waiving both charges for new customers, but only for a limited time. Customers who sign up before May 30, 2014 will pay only $1 to be connected to belong with a new modem.
If you're one of the unlucky ones and Belong needs to do cabling work to connect you to the network there is a $299 one-time fee.
