Aussie Broadband details July NBN price increase

Aussie Broadband is the latest provider to confirm what its NBN plans will look like after NBN Co increases wholesale prices in July. Aussie's NBN 12, NBN 25, and NBN 50 plans will all get a $4 per month price hike, while its NBN 75 plan will get a $3 increase. Pricing for NBN 100, NBN 250, and NBN 1000 plans will stay the same.

Here's what Aussie Broadband's NBN plans will look like after the price increase kicks in on July 11.

Speed Tier	Upcoming price	Old price
NBN 12	$69 per month	$65 per month
NBN 25	$79 per month	$75 per month
NBN 50	$89 per month	$85 per month
NBN 75	$92 per month	$89 per month
NBN 100/20	$95 per month	$95 per month
NBN 100/40	$105 per month	$105 per month
NBN 250	$119 per month	$119 per month
NBN 1000	$129 per month	$129 per month

As a result of the price increases, NBN 100 plans are set to be a better value - albeit more expensive option - than NBN 50 plans. After Aussie Broadband's price increase comes into effect, there'll be just a $6 per month difference between its NBN 50 pricing and NBN 100 pricing.

On Aussie's NBN 50 plan, customers will effectively be paying $1.78 per Mbps. This drops to $0.95 per Mbps on the NBN 100 plan.

It's currently also possible to get Aussie Broadband's NBN 100 plan for the same price as its NBN 50 plan, thanks to an EOFY discount. Using the promo code EOFY120 cuts the price of Aussie Broadband's NBN 100 plan to $85 per month. This discount lasts for your first 12 months with Aussie Broadband, meaning you'd paying $85 per month for NBN 100 even when NBN 50 jumps up to $89 per month.

Here are Aussie Broadband's current NBN plans:

Aussie Broadband is on the more premium end of the pricing spectrum, and the price increases do nothing to change this. While all NBN providers will likely be passing on the price hike to customers on slower speed tiers, there are still more affordable options.

Here's a look at the cheapest NBN plans in the WhistleOut database. Note that the prices on many NBN 25 and NBN 50 plans are likely to go up next month.
