Netflix has expanded its focus on entertaining and engaging younger minds this month by launching a brand new app filled with educational games — Netflix Playground.
Not sure what it is, what it costs or how to get started? Keep reading for everything you need to know.
What is Netflix Playground Australia?
Netflix Playground is a standalone app designed especially for kids aged 8 or younger to fully immerse themselves in the worlds of their favourite characters through thoughtful gameplay.
Its content is geared towards inspiring creativity and creating fun using familiar personalities like Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Bad Dinosaurs and many more to be added as the app grows.
Picture your child actually exercising their brain by playing virtual musical instruments, solving puzzles, playing memory, counting or pattern games instead of slumping on the couch with bad posture just absorbing content. Sure, screentime is a worry for many parents, but this is a better alternative than giving your kids unfettered access to YouTube.
The best part about Netflix Playground is it that offers an uninterrupted experience. No ads, no hidden costs and no prompts to make extra in-app purchases.
Netflix Playground is also playable offline, meaning there's no need for a Wi-Fi connection on roadtrips, plane rides or while running errands at the shops.
How much does Netflix Playground cost in Australia?
While Netflix Playground is exclusive to Netflix account holders only, it does not come at an additional cost. Even Netflix Standard with Ads tier customers can use Netflix Playground.
Simply download the Netflix Playground app via either the App Store or Google Play, sign in with your Netflix account and get started. For an idea on how much Netflix costs, check out its available plans below:
