Foxtel customers can now include an IQ3 box in their monthly subscription, bringing a slick new interface and the ability to watch any show in progress from the beginning.
The IQ3 box attracts the same $25 per month fee as the existing IQHD set-top box, or can be included in any subscription combo which already includes an IQHD box as part of the monthly cost.
The newer unit does have a higher upfront cost though, costing $125 when you sign up rather than $75 for the IQHD.
For this extra expense, the new IQ3 box delivers some great new features:
- WiFi enabled — this may seem like a small improvement, but it is great that you now will not need to hardwire your set-top box to the internet to take advantage of On Demand features.
- 1 TB storage — more than 3x storage space over the IQHD and up to 345 hours of SD TV storage (according to Foxtel).
- Start Over — probably the most exciting feature, the ability to choose a show playing in the TV Guide and immediately start over from the beginning.
- Suggested / Trending — new discovery tools to help you find new shows you haven’t seen before.
- Bluetooth Remote — no more struggling to get a line of sight to your set-top box to make your remote work
