Crunchyroll Australia discount and deal for Ani-May

Earlier this year, anime streaming service Crunchyroll increased its plan pricing for the first time since 2019. Now it's offering huge discounts to celebrate what it calls 'Ani-May'.

For a limited time, new and returning customers can get the Crunchyroll Fan tier for $2.99 (usually $11.99) per month for three months or the Mega Fan tier for $3.99 (usually $14.99) for three months. That's a saving of $27 or $33, respectively, over three months. Despite this being a May celebration, this deal ends on Friday, May 22 at about 4:30pm AEST, so don't hesitate if you're looking to lock down a deal.

In addition to discounted plans, there are a few more ways to celebrate Crunchyroll's Ani-May. EB Games is giving out 30-day free trials to a premium Crunchyroll subscription with all EB World Plus signups. Crunchyroll subscribers can also claim an exclusive in-game reward in the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 video game when it launches on Xbox this month.

Lastly, anime fans can get an oddly specific 26% off merch from the Crunchyroll store until May 31. That includes apparel, figurines, limited edition vinyl and more.

What is Crunchyroll?

Crunchyroll is a streaming service with a focus on anime TV series and movies. The anime streaming service is owned by the Sony Group Corporation, and it's primarily for those seeking to stream Japanese anime, but Crunchyroll also has other East Asian media. You can either stream content in its original language with subtitles or English dubbed versions.

Originally launched in 2006, Crunchyroll has 120 million registered users. Of that expansive global user base, 17 million pay for a subscription as of 2025. What started as a piracy site (no, really) for East Asian content has today shifted to a legal subscription service that hosts thousands of anime titles.
