The summer of cricket suggests a very limited window to watch Australia's favourite ball-and-bat sport. Thankfully, the phrase is an oversimplification. In Australia, the summer of cricket is more like "the spring and summer of cricket". And that's just for southern hemisphere matches. Cricket is expanding globally, across three main formats – Test, One Day International (ODI), and T20 – with men's and women's matches, international and domestic leagues, alongside main regions and emerging territories.
Today you can watch cricket pretty much all year round with the right subscriptions. Let's swing into all the best ways to watch live cricket in Australia.
Where can I live stream cricket in Australia?
In this guide we'll break down the best ways to stream Australian women and men's cricket separately as the answer isn't always the same.
How to watch men's cricket
The best place to watch live cricket that involves the Australian men's cricket team is on Kayo Sports or Foxtel Now (with a sports package). Until 2031, Fox Cricket is the home of Australian men's cricket across Tests, ODIs, and T20s. Kayo or Foxtel are also the only ways to catch every Big Bash League (BBL) match live.
Here's how much Kayo costs:
For the cheapest Fox Cricket option, grab a Kayo Standard subscription for $30 a month, which includes one stream at up to Full HD resolution. Alternatively, Kayo Premium costs $40 per month for two simultaneous streams at up to 4K resolution. For more than just sports, Foxtel Now Sports + Movies costs $84 a month or it's $104 per month for Foxtel Now Ultimate, both of which include two streams at up to Full HD resolution.
If you prefer the set-top box experience via Foxtel packages, it's potentially cheaper for the first year if you don't mind a 12-month contract. Foxtel Sport costs $69 a month, Foxtel Sport + Movies is $84 a month, while Foxtel Platinum Plus costs $99 a month. Without a contract, you're looking at $108, $133, and $150 monthly Foxtel IQ fees, respectively.
Australian men's cricket schedule
Outside of The Ashes (more on that below), the Australian men's cricket team will be playing in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, between 7 February 2026 and 8 March 2026. The T20 World Cup is being played in India and Sri Lanka, with Australia making up one of 20 teams as part of a 55-match series. Australia will be one of five teams in one of four groups. If it places as one of the top two teams during the round-robin group stages, it'll progress as one of four teams in one of two Super 8 groups. The top two teams from those Super 8 groups will advance to the semifinals, and the winners of those matches will go to the final.
While finding an exact schedule for ESPN cricket matches is tricky, any streaming service that includes ESPN will also have access to matches streamed by the international sports platform. If you have Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, or Foxtel IQ, you already have ESPN. Alternatively, Disney Plus has ESPN or you can add it to with a Fetch TV subscription. The cheapest of those ESPN pathways is the Fetch TV Vibe Pack for $7.99 a month. Alternatively, pay $24.99 a month for the Fetch TV Ultimate Pack. Disney Plus Standard costs $15.99 a month or $159.99 per year, while Disney Plus Premium is $20.99 a month or $209.99 per year.
How to watch Australian women's cricket
For Australian women's cricket, you also want a Kayo Sports or Foxtel Now subscription. The agreement between Cricket Australia and Foxtel covers Australian women's cricket international matches for Tests, ODIs, and T20s. Any subscription that includes Fox Cricket also has access to the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
Australian women's cricket schedule
The Australian women's cricket team is set to play the Indian women's cricket team in a three-format series at the start of 2026. The start of the tour will consist of three T20 matches:
- Australia vs India T20 1: 15 February 2026 in Sydney from 7:15pm AEDT
- Australia vs India T20 2: 19 February 2026 in Canberra from 7:15pm AEDT
- Australia vs India T20 3: 15 February 2026 in Adelaide from 7:15pm AEDT
After the T20 series concludes, there's a three-match ODI series between the Australian women and Indian women:
- Australia vs India ODI 1: 24 February 2026 in Brisbane from 2:50pm AEDT
- Australia vs India ODI 2: 27 February 2026 in Hobart from 2:50pm AEDT
- Australia vs India ODI 3: 1 March 2026 in Hobart from 2:50pm AEDT
The tour concludes with a four-day Test in Pert from 6 March 2026 to 9 March, with play starting from 4:20pm AEDT.
The Australian women's team were unlucky not to take home another trophy at the Women's Cricket ODI World Cup 2025, but they've got a shot at more silverware in 2026. The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 takes place in England from 12 June 2026 to 5 July 2026. While some of the time differences are rough, here's the schedule for the confirmed Australian women's cricket team matches:
- Australia vs South Africa: 13 June 2026 in Manchester from 11:30pm
- Australia vs TBD Qualifiers: 17 June 2026 in Leeds from 7:30pm
- Australia vs TBD Qualifiers: 20 June 2026 in Southampton from 7:30pm
- Australia vs Pakistan: 24 June 2026 in Leeds from 3:30am
- Australia vs India: 28 June 2026 in London from 11:30pm
Kayo Sports and Foxtel are the home of Australian cricket, but there are also international cricket matches to stream on Fox Cricket. For fans of shorter-format cricket, Fox Cricket has the Indian Premier League (IPL), Women's Premier League (WPL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Vitality Blast, and The Hundred. If you're interested in international teams that aren't playing against Australia, Fox Cricket also tends to have matches for different series involving New Zealand, West Indies, India, Pakistan, England and more throughout the year, across cricket formats.
Where can I watch live cricket for free?
There's a bunch of free cricket on 7plus if you don't want to pay to stream. Cricket Australia has an agreement with the Seven Network until 2031, which includes broadcasting rights for all men's Test matches and every women's international game. Sign up for a free 7plus account to also stream 34 out of 44 BBL matches, plus 23 of the WBBL games.
For more free cricket streaming, sign up for an ICC.tv account. With that, you'll have access to free international cricket matches. Check out the ICC TV schedule for upcoming matches. From my experience, ICC TV has a lot of live cricket games from emerging nations. At times, you may have to use a virtual private network (VPN) and connect to a server outside of those excluded from the available territories (Germany is a good go-to).
The Sheffield Shield and Marsh Cup – Australia's Test and ODI tournaments, respectively – are also available for free streaming via the Cricket Australia app. Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) domestic matches are also on the Cricket Australia app. If you prefer to listen rather than watch, ABC Sport has live radio commentary for Australian men's and women's international matches, plus selected WBBL matches.
YouTube is also a great source for free cricket streaming. Channels like Rabbitholebd Sports, CPL T20, Windies Cricket, and Sports Central are great options for live international cricket or domestic leagues from other parts of the world. You may have to use a VPN to access the live streams if those matches are broadcast on Foxtel Cricket. Similarly, use a VPN to connect to a New Zealand server and sign up for a free TVNZ+ account if you want to watch NZ cricket matches.
How to live stream The Ashes in Australia
The Ashes happens roughly every two years for the Australian men's cricket team, alternating between England and Australia as the host nation. For 2025, Australia is hosting England in a five-match Test series, with the Aussie men looking to defend the title and England hoping to snatch back the trophy for the first time in a decade.
To stream The Ashes, you can either pay for Fox Cricket or watch it for free with 7plus. Both options will have ads, though those are typically relegated to between overs and during other scheduled breaks in play. Here's the schedule for all five Ashes Test matches in Australia:
- Australia vs England Test 1: 21–25 November 2025 in Perth from 1:20pm AEDT
- Australia vs England Test 2: 4–8 December 2025 in Brisbane from 3:00pm AEDT
- Australia vs England Test 3: 17–21 December 2025 in Adelaide from 10:30am AEDT
- Australia vs England Test 4: 26–30 December 2025 in Melbourne from 10:30am AEDT
- Australia vs England Test 5: 4–8 January 2026 in Sydney from 10:30am AEDT
Where can I stream the ICC World Cup?
Any cricket tournament that has "ICC" in the title will be found on Prime Video, at least until the end of 2027. That will cover the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, and the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2027. Unlike Stan Sport or Foxtel Now, there's no extra subscription fee required to stream sports on Prime Video, which includes ICC tournaments and NBA matches.
Prime Video costs $9.99 per month or $79 per year as part of an Amazon Prime subscription, which has other perks outside of sports, movies, and TV shows. You can pay $2.99 a month for no ads on Prime Video movies and TV shows, but live cricket and other sports will still have ads.
What is Kayo Sport?
Kayo Sport is the jock child of Foxtel, offering a huge range of live and post-match sports matches and commentary content on everything from AFL and equestrian to NRL and woodchopping.
Kayo Sport offers a seven-day free trial period, and none of its plans have ads. However, there is no discounted annual subscription tier. Prices range from $30 per month for Standard or $40 per month for Premium, which unlocks two screens for simultaneous viewing and 4K content.
How does Disney Plus and Kayo Sport compare?
If you already have a stand-alone sports streaming service, it may pay to ditch it and settle for the house of the mouse's ESPN content — so long as ESPN covers the sport/s you're after.
Disney Plus also offers a discount if you commit to an annual subscription; not something a lot of streaming services do these days. By signing up for 12 months, you'll pay just $7.50 per month instead of the usual $9.99 per month.
Otherwise, Kayo Sport's vast library and exclusive rights to a number of popular sporting events make it a staple for sports fanatics. Currently, there are no password sharing limitations on Kayo Sport. This means instead of paying $30 per month for your own subscription, simply pay $20 to a mate each month who has a Premium subscription so you can get a screen each. This will save each of you $120 per year plus you'll get access to 4K content.
