Over its 50 years on the air, Lorne Michaels' enduring sketch show, SNL (Saturday Night Live), has been localised across the globe more than a few times, but never to the UK. Until now. This week, a six-episode pilot season of SNL UK will premiere live from London.
Whether you're an SNL superfan or a British expat living in Australia, you will need to sort out a VPN and fast if you want to watch it live. If you don't mind waiting, however, new episodes of SNL UK will be available to stream on HBO Max every Monday, here in Australia.
Here's everything you need to know about watching the inaugural season of SNL UK in Australia.
How to watch SNL UK in Australia
The official streaming partner for SNL UK in Australia is HBO Max. You will have to wait until Monday in Australia to watch it, though. HBO Max is one of the most expensive streaming services in Australia, and not for nothing, it's home to Oscar winners like One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Weapons.
HBO Max starts at $11.99 per month for two ad-supported HD streams. If you prefer an ad-free experience, the HBO Max Standard plan also offers two HD streams without ads for $15.99 per month. For the premium experience (ad-free 4K streams on up to four devices), the monthly cost is $20.99. You can save money on all three HBO Max plans if you commit to a full year upfront.

How to watch SNL UK live from Australia
SNL UK has been created and produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels and distributed by Sky. In the UK, it will stream live on Sky One and the streaming service NOW.
If you're in Australia and you want to watch SNL UK live, you will need the assistance of a VPN, like ExpressVPN or NordVPN. If you've signed up for a VPN, you can access services like NOW or Sky One by cloaking your browsing location to trick your internet connection into thinking you're watching from the UK.
What time do episodes of SNL UK live stream in Australia?
As mentioned above, the only official way to stream SNL UK in Australia is via HBO Max every Monday, a whole day after it is broadcast in the UK. If you go the distance to stream SNL UK live with a VPN and a NOW subscription, you will be able to watch SNL UK live at 9:00am (AEDT) on Sunday.
