How to livestream the 2026 NRL and NRLW State of Origin series
Free-to-air Channel Nine
The free-to-air Channel Nine has exclusive live broadcast rights to all State of Origin games played in 2026, and so does its catch-up service 9Now.
You can download the 9Now app on select smart TVs (Sony, TCL, Kogan), on Foxtel boxes (iQ3 and later) and Fetch, and via streaming devices like Apple TV, Chromecast or Google TV Streamer and Amazon Fire TV devices.
If you prefer to watch on a smaller screen there's an app available for iPhone/iPad as well as Android phones and tablets. Or you can watch on your computer in web browser using Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
Whichever device you decide to use, 9Now is a free ad-supported service. The most important thing is giving yourself enough time to download the app and sign in before the match begins.

Kayo Sports or Foxtel
If you don't catch the action live and you're happy to settle for post-match coverage, you can stream every State of Origin match via Kayo Sports or Foxtel.
Kayo Sports is the more affordable option of the two, starting at $29.99 per month, and has a vast array of other sports plus all other NRL matches live and on-demand.
Yes, new customers are entitled to a seven-day free trial to see if they like Kayo before paying for it.
However, if you want to lock in a reduced price for Kayo that'll last a little longer, there are a number of deals for NRL/AFL fans, CommBank customers and more.
Foxtel Now's most cost-effective Sports package will set you back at least $84 per month. However, if you're a movie lover and enjoy watching all other NRL games live and on-demand, this could be worth your while.
Yes, Foxtel Now offers a 10-day free trial for new customers. After your 10-day free trial, you will automatically be charged the first month of whatever plan you chose (in this case, the sports package).

What is State of Origin?
State of Origin began its rivalry back in 1982 (for the Mens) and 1999 (for the Womens). It pits the New South Wales Blues (aka Cockroaches) against the Queensland Maroons (aka Cane Toads) and is essentially a best-of-three game series. Whoever wins at least two matches is crowned the year's winner and given the honour of lifting the coveted trophy.
Both the Queensland Mens and Womens sides have been more successful over the years, walking away with 25 out of 42 wins for the Mens and 19 out of 24 wins for the Womens.
Editor's pick: Great NBN 100 plans for streaming
Kayo Sports enquires up to 25Mbps of available download speed to stream at 4K resolution. On Kayo you can stream to multiple devices with the highest-tier respective subscriptions, so you could get away with an NBN 50 plan.
However, that leaves little to nothing left for anyone else in your household. In light of this, we recommend using an NBN 100 plan as a minimum for sports streaming at home in up to 4K fidelity (even if UFC fights are rarely broadcast at 4K resolution).
Here's a list of popular NBN 100 plans from our database.
