Netflix renewals: Emily in Paris, Man on the Inside, Stranger Things: Tales from '85

A recent report shed light on a decade of Netflix renewals and cancellations, showing that series that lasted longer than three seasons had the best chance of avoiding an untimely cancellation.

It seems the longer a series goes on, the harder it becomes to pull the plug on, no matter the critical reception. The Season 8 renewal of Black Mirror might not surprise anyone, but nobody could have predicted Emily in Paris getting six seasons. Stranger Things: Tales From '85 has also been renewed for a second season, despite the show taking place entirely between Season 2 and Season 3 of the original live-action series.

If you're curious to know how your favourite Netflix original faired, we have the scoop on which shows did make the cut for future seasons in 2026.
