In news that will surprise nobody, Telstra has been announced as the official telco partner for Foxtel's new standalone sports streaming service, Kayo. Unfortunately, the partnership is fairly limited at this stage.
Telstra customers are able to add a Kayo Sports subscription onto their mobile or broadband bill for standard pricing - either $25 or $35 per month, depending on the package. The only real benefit of this is a single bill. In addition, a Kayo app is now available for Telstra TV.
No discounts are available for Telstra subscribers, no plan includes a free Kayo subscription, and unlike a lot of Telstra's other sports content, Kayo is not available data-free. While most of Telstra's broadband plans are unlimited, subscribers using Kayo over 4G will want to keep an eye on their data usage.
Kayo Sports subscribers get access to all the content you'd typically find in a Foxtel sports package. Any sport broadcast on Fox Sports, ESPN, and BeIN is streamable on Kayo - live and on demand.
Kayo will set you back $25 per month for a basic subscription, or $35 per month for a premium subscription. A basic subscription allows you to watch on two devices simultaneously, while opting for premium will expand this to three.
