Foxtel's viewing packs are going up by $5 per month, while the provider drops more channels. Both LMN movies, and the Famous Channel will shut off before the price increase takes effect on September 1.

The price rise was unceremoniously announced in small print under 'Customer updates' on the Foxtel homepage. The update reads:

"From 1 September 2025, the price of the Foxtel Plus pack (including Platinum Plus) is increasing by $5 per month."

WhistleOut has since confirmed the price increase may only apply to the Foxtel Plus pack, but it does affect every subscription tier. Since each of the pay TV giant's channel packs requires Foxtel Plus as a starting point, every tier will experience a $5  per month increase.

WhistleOut understands less than 25% of Foxtel subscribers will be immediately affected by the price rises, with many already on existing deals. Customers locked into a 12-month plan will continue with their current pricing until the plan duration has finished, at which point they will switch over to the new rates.  Here are what those look like:

Foxtel price rise: September 2025
Plan Current monthly price New monthly price
Foxtel Plus $73 $78
Movies $98 $103
Sport $103 $108
Sport + Movies $133 $133
Platinum Plus $145 $150

Alongside the price rises, Foxtel will axe two more channels. LMN movies channel will no longer be available come July 31, and the Famous Channel is closing on August 26. Content from Famous will migrate across to Showcase, Real History, and Lifestyle, but LMN viewing won't find a new home. This comes off the back of Foxtel dropping both MTV Music Channels, and Stingray audio channels in favour of music channels powered by local group Nightlife Music.

The provider will also tweak its NBN offering in the coming months, and entirely cut its NBN 50 plan. From October 1 broadband customers will be moved to an NBN 100 plan, and will pay an extra $15 per month. Foxtel says it will contact affected customers, but how this will work for subscribers on technology types incompatible with the speed tier is yet to be seen.
