Every streaming service gets new content monthly, and some months are better than others. According to our content-fiends across the WhistleOut extended universe, Disney Plus has the best streaming picks this month and it is easy to see why. With a new season of Only Murders in the Building, the brand new Glen Powell show, Chad Powers, and Alien: Earth continuing, there is plenty to watch.

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 - September 9

Heading back to Disney Plus on September 9, Only Murders in the Building’s all-star ensemble are taking on a deeply personal case. This time round, the Arconia’s beloved doorman Lester has been found dead in his lucky fountain. According to co-creator John Hoffman, Season 5 will look at the tension between old and new New York, and that viewers can expect a more layered mystery for the squad. Alongside the usual triad of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are a range of new characters with similarly big names – Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, and Dianne Wiest, just to name a few.

Chad Powers Season 1 - September 30

In a Mr Doubtfire, She’s the Man kind of trope without the gender antics, Glen Powell is Russ Holliday, who is pretending to be Chad Powers. After ruining his shot at the big leagues, the ex-footballer dons prosthetics and a new persona to try and rekindle his college career as the quarterback on a struggling team in the south. Like any good sports themed television show, Chad Powers looks like it will have laughs, heart, and a redemption arc. If this kind of tomfoolery manages to get close to the original magic of Ted Lasso, then we’re in for a treat. The first two episodes debut on September 30, on Disney Plus.

Alien: Earth Season 1- September 9

Alien: Earth continues its run from August, and we won’t post any spoilers but the series is coming into its own at Episode 5. The whole series is set just two years before the original Ridley Scott film Alien, and follows a young woman who has had her consciousness moved into a synthetic body. Again, no spoilers, but it looks like the big baddy isn’t who, or what you’re expecting.

The final three episodes will premiere throughout September on the 9th, 16th and 23rd.
