Binge has been floating the idea of exclusive commissioned content for a while, and the streamer has today announced four original series will launch across the platform in 2026. Partnering with UK's Channel 4, and Warner Bros Television, Binge will release a crime drama Run, a true crime documentary The Postcard Bandit, a reality television series Apocalypse, and a comedy romp called Tough Love.

Run is a fictitious retelling of the exploits of infamous Aussie bank robber Brenden Abbott. The six part series tracks his crimes, his multiple prison escapes, and his ongoing eluding of police, starting George Mason, Robyn Malcolm, Ashleigh Cummings, and Keiynan Lonsdale. Shot over in Western Australia, the hour-long episodes are set on the background of Perth and Fremantle, and reportedly brought more than $7 million into the WA economy.

On the other side of the same coin, The Postcard Bandit is a two part documentary series about the same outlaw. As it stands, Abbott is the longest serving, non-murder in the Australian justice system, and now after 28 years he is pleading for an early release. His fate is not yet determined, but the documentary is said to be a deep dive into his legendary criminal saga.

Apart from Abbott, Binge is also taking a run at a reality series with UK's Channel 4 named Apocalypse. The show will see players dropped into a post-apocalyptic, abandoned city with nothing but the clothes on their back. Backed by the same creatives that made Squid Game: The Challenge and Alone, the show will test ordinary people's survival skills, cunning, and instincts. It really feels like Survivor, but probably with less swimwear.

The final instalment from Binge's first lot of commissions is Tough Love, a comedy series that sees adult siblings navigating the potential loss of their mother.

Alongside the originals, we'll see the return of a bunch of Australian and international hits like Colin From Accounts, Taskmaster, Ted, and reality shows like Selling Houses Australia, and The Great Australian Bake Off.
