Every month it gets that little bit harder to press pause on the Apple TV Plus subscription, but if you were hoping this would be the time to get your $15.99 back in your pocket - it's not. Our editorial team are ready and rearing for the new season of Slow Horses, and to keep on trucking with Foundation and Acapulco.
Slow Horses Season 5 - September 24
If you’re not down the Slow Horses rabbit hole yet, we beg you to join us. The show is based on a series of Mick Herron novels called Slough House, which follows a team of dysfunctional MI5 agents. It is sort of like Archer, if it took itself seriously, and was British. In the latest season we see that resident tech geek Roddy Ho has a hot new girlfriend, who is entirely out of his league, so naturally the team is suspicious. As more strange events transpire, it is up to Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), and the rest of the misfits to connect the dots. Season 5 debuts on September 24, and episodes will land on Apple TV Plus every week until October 29.
Foundation Season 3 - September 12
The prestige drama continues with season 3 of Apple TV Plus’ sci-fi speciality, Foundation. Based on another lot of books, this time by Isaac Asimov, the space epic jumps 152 years into the future as the war wages on. The Empire and Foundation factions (sounds familiar right?), have to work together to beat out The Mule. There are only two episodes left of this season, with the finale hitting screens on September 12.
Acapulco Season 4 - September 10
For those who have a White Lotus shaped hole in their lives, Acapulco is a less intense version of rich holiday-goers and hotel staff behaving badly. The colourful, bi-lingual show is coming to an end, with Maximo checking into Las Colinas for the last time come September 17. In this season the team are working tirelessly in the present day to restore Las Colinas to its former glory, while back in 1986 a young Maximo is trying to reclaim the throne of the “Best Hotels” in Acapulco. Dedicated to overcoming the odds on a comedic background, the show is Ted Lasso-esque in its style and substance. Minus the sports.
The final two episodes of Acapulco will stream September 10 and September 17.
