After increasing the price of its top-end "Premium" plan back in March, Kayo will charge an extra $5 per month for its "Standard" plan from June 3. This means customers on this tier will now pay $30 per month, up from $25.
Other than the price increase, the Kayo plan will have the same inclusions. Kayo Standard will still max out with HD quality and a single stream.
WhistleOut reached out to a Kayo spokesperson for comment on the price rise, but did not hear back in time for publication.
While Kayo may be getting more expensive, there are still ways to save on it. Purchasing a digital membership to the AFL club of your choice effectively works as annual subscription. The price of digital membership can vary from club to club, but the Brisbane Lions are currently charging $248 for a year of Kayo Standard or $350 for Kayo Premium.
The Kayo Standard deal works out to be the equivalent of $20.67 per month. That's cheaper than the current $25 per month asking price, and much better than the impending $30 per month customers will pay.
The Kayo Premium deal also works out to be a $10 or so per month saving compared to the usual $40 per month.
If you have a Hubbl set-top box, you can save $5 per month on your streaming bill if you bundle at least three services. This increases to $10 per month with four services, and maxes out at $15 with five. Eligible streaming services include Netflix, Binge, Kayo Sports, Flash, and Lifestyle. You'll only get the discount for 36 months, however.
It's also still possible to get your first month of either a Kayo Standard or Kayo Premium plan for just $1. Click one of the buttons in the table below to apply the discount.
Kayo normally offers a seven-day free trial, but for some, a month for a $1 will be a better deal.
