Apple MLS Season Pass

Apple has launched its MLS Season Pass, its bolt-on subscription option for Major League Soccer.

Locally, Soccer fans will pay $22.99 per month during the season, or can pay $149 upfront for the entire season. If you've already got an Apple TV+ subscription, this drops down to $19.99 per month or $119 upfront. Up to six family members can share the subscription through Family Sharing.

The season kicks off on February 25, and to mark the occasion, Apple will be broadcasting the first weekend of matches for free. In addition, six free matches will be available each week. All you need to watch these is an Apple ID; you don't need an Apple TV+ subscription.

In the lead-up to the season, Apple's Major League Soccer has past matches going back as far as 2019, match previews, and club content such as player profiles and media interviews.

For live matches, you'll be able to jump in at any point if you're running late. You can watch from the beginning, rewind, pause, or just watch from where the match is up to. In addition, Apple says it will be making replays available as soon as a match finishes.

You'll find Major League Soccer in its own tab in Apple's TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. You'll need to be running iOS 16.2 or later, iPadOS 16.2 or later, tvOS 16.2 or later, or macOS Ventura to subscribe. In addition, Major League Soccer will also be available on any device with any smart TV with an Apple TV app and in your web browser.

Apple has a ten-year agreement with Major League Soccer, making the partnership its biggest venture into sports yet. Last year it also signed a seven-year deal with Major League Baseball, but this is available as part of an Apple TV+ subscription, rather than requiring a separate season pass. Baseball is available to subscribers in fewer markets, however.
