Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another is the indie darling director's first big studio film, and as far as 2025 films go, it doesn't get much bigger than this.
One Battle After Another is PTA's highest-grossing movie, making more money than both Licorice Pizza and There Will Be Blood during its cinematic run, but it also cleaned up at this year's Academy Awards, taking home four awards.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, here's how you can watch One Battle After Another in Australia.

What is One Battle After Another about?
Based very, very loosely on Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel Vineland, One Battle After Another follows the story of Bob AKA Ghetto Pat Calhoun (Leonardo DiCaprio) and the French 75, a determined and fallible group of revolutionaries operating out of California.
The story is told over two timelines. In the first, a young Ghetto Pat falls in love with Perfidia Beverly Hills (Teyana Taylor), one of the French 75's more radical revolutionaries. While breaking imprisoned immigrants out of a detention centre, Perfidia draws the interest and ire of military man Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn). Throughout the years that follow, a lovelorn Lockjaw makes it his personal mission to hunt down the French 75, in the hopes of reconnecting with Perfidia Beverly Hills.
Skip forward 16 years, and the French 75 isn't what it used to be. DiCaprio's Bob isn't what he used to be either. Drug and booze-addled Bob lives a quiet life with his teenage daughter Charlene, somewhere remote in the woods of Baktan Cross. Everything seems relatively peachy, if paranoid. But before too long, Pat's past comes back to haunt him when Lockjaw canvases the fictional border town Baktan Cross in search of the remaining French 75 members.
One Battle After another might be nearly three hours long, but you wouldn't know it if you didn't look at the clock. It moves along at a clip, and the pace is so relentless that you wouldn't have time to find the pause button even if you wanted to.
