Good morning, Upper East Siders.
That's right, it's been a whole nine years since we last delved into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite, and now the cult classic series Gossip Girl has had a 2021 makeover.
Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, (a writer and executive producer on the original series), the new series stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith as they navigate school, life and relationships under the watchful eye of Gossip Girl's new Instagram account.
While you shouldn't hold your breath if you're hoping Blake Lively, Leighton Meester or any of the other original cast members are going to make an appearance, Kristen Bell does return as the voice of the anonymous blogger.
And look, while the original Gossip Girl will always hold a special place in our hearts, there's no denying that certain elements of the show haven't aged all that well. Will the new series right the wrongs of its predecessor? There's only one way to find out.
That being said, the cast is already looking much more diverse and a better reflection of New York society, so that's a good sign of things to come. Hopefully, this reboot won't be leaving us disappointed. Here's how you can watch the Gossip Girl reboot in Australia.
