Aussies will be able to stream season 2 of Loki exclusively on Disney Plus. This is because it's part of the Marvel franchise, which Disney has exclusive streaming rights to.
While Disney Plus doesn't offer a free trial, it does offer the equivalent of two months free if you commit to an annual subscription (compared to the price of its usual monthly signup, that is). Here's how its annual pricing compares to other streaming services:
| Streaming service | Monthly | Annual | Saving | Equal to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Prime Video | $9.99 | $79 | $41 | Four months free |
| Binge (Basic with Ads) | $10 | $79 | $41 | Four months free |

| Disney Plus (Premium) | $24.99 | $249.99 | $49.89 | Almost two months free |
| Paramount Plus (Basic with Ads) | $6.99 | $61.99 | 21.89 | Three months free |
| Paramount Plus (Standard) | $10.99 | $97.99 | $33.89 | Three months free |

When does Loki season 2 release in Australia?
Loki season 2 will be available to watch on Disney Plus from October 6 2023. Based on previous Disney Plus shows, we're expecting episodes to go live at 6pm AEDT. There are six episodes in the season.
What is Loki season 2 about?
Loki follows the (mis)adventures of the Marvel character and God of Mischief of the same name. The series solely focuses on time and space travel — think DC's Legends of Tomorrow or Back to the Future but with much better effects.
It's the first MCU TV series to be granted a second season so clearly it's a solid investment, both financially and couch-time-wise.
WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD
Last season ended on a HUGE cliffhanger where Loki and his alternate timeline doppelganger, Sylvie, are searching for a being known as He Who Remains (who is a version of Kang the Conqueror — it's very hard to keep up with all this multiple-timeline business).
Rather than destroy him, Sylvie chooses to thrust Loki back to the TVA (the very 70s-decorated Time Variance Authority) and consequently into a new timeline seemingly ruled by Kang the Conqueror. This happens because she kills He Who Remains/Kang the Conqueror variant, causing his other time variants to split off creating over 60 different realities and wreaking havoc.
Can Loki reunite with Sylie? And will they restore the timeline?
How many episodes are there in Loki season 2?
Loki consists of 12 episodes created by Michael Waldron and written by various writers including Michael Waldron, Eric Martin, Bisha K. Ali, Tom Kauffman, Elissa Karasik and Katharyn Blair. Waldron has worked as a writer on a range of projects, including Rick and Morty and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Here's the Loki season 2 episode release schedule:
- Episode 1: airing October 6, 2023
- Episode 2: airing October 13, 2023
- Episode 3: airing October 20, 2023
- Episode 4: airing October 27, 2023
- Episode 5: airing November 3, 2023
- Episode 6: airing November 10, 2023
What is Disney Plus?

How does Disney Plus compare?
Disney Plus isn't the most affordable streaming service available. But it's high value for money due to its extensive content library. Plus it offers a 15% saving on annual subscriptions, which most services don't offer pricing for.
